Objective

Mahindra, a brand synonymous with rugged reliability and trust, sought to create a compelling campaign featuring its Bolero, Bolero Neo, Maxx HD Pick-Up, and Bolero Pick-Up. The project consisted of two films on the Bolero, each featuring two reels, as well as two reels on the Bolero Neo, Maxx HD Pick-Up, and Bolero Pick-Up, one focusing on beauty shots and the other highlighting key features.

To bring Mahindra’s vision to life, our team embarked on an intensive and well-coordinated shoot in Prayagraj, capturing the vehicles in both urban and rural landscapes. The project was strategically scheduled immediately after Mahakumbh, allowing us to navigate the city more efficiently while still incorporating the spiritual and cultural essence of the location.

Objectives

Showcase the Vehicles’ Strength & Versatility – Demonstrate Mahindra’s capability in both urban and off-road environments, emphasising power, durability, and utility.
Blend Automotive with Cultural Aesthetics – Integrate Prayagraj’s heritage, especially the post-Mahakumbh landscapes, to add a deeper narrative.
Efficient Execution with Two Teams – Optimise production by splitting into two teams:

  • Film Team: Focused on cinematic storytelling and feature highlights.
  • Reels Team: Captured beauty shots and features for social media engagement.
Maximise Coverage in Limited Time – Work against the clock to capture diverse settings, from cityscapes to riverbanks, ensuring a complete visual experience.

Strategic Execution

1. Smart Planning & Location Selection
  • The shoot was scheduled right after Mahakumbh, ensuring easier access to roads, less congestion, and unrestricted entry to key locations.
  • The Bolero was driven near the riverbanks, where its rugged capabilities were showcased against a breathtaking natural backdrop.
  • The real team covered Prayagraj’s urban and rural landscapes, highlighting the vehicles’ adaptability across diverse terrains.
2. Two-Team Coordination
  • Film Team: Focused on crafting two cinematic ad films for the Bolero, ensuring a story-driven visual narrative that emphasised its dependability in real-life scenarios.
  • Reels Team: Focused on short, high-impact content, including:
    • Beauty Reels: Close-up, detailed shots capturing the vehicles’ design, stance, and aesthetic appeal.
    • Feature Reels: Demonstrating key functionalities like off-road performance, loading capacity, suspension, and technology integrations.
3. Fast-Paced Production & Adaptive Filmmaking
  • Time Constraints: With limited hours and multiple locations, our team moved swiftly to capture key shots without compromising quality.
  • Dynamic Environments: Shooting in both city areas and rural settings required real-time adjustments in framing, lighting, and camera movements.
  • Optimised Gear & Mobility: Given the fast-paced schedule, we used a combination of handheld gimbals, drones, and mounted cameras to capture a mix of stable and dynamic shots efficiently.
