Objective

Nissan India wanted to launch the Nissan Magnite Kuro – The Boldest Black with a film that not only showcased the SUV but also embodied the true essence of Kuro (Japanese for “black”). The goal was to create a cinematic experience that highlighted mystery, boldness, and power, immersing the car in an environment that visually represented its striking identity.

Concept & Creative Approach

Our vision was to position the Nissan Magnite Kuro as a creation of darkness — born from it, thriving in it, and returning to it. To bring this to life, we chose Hanle, Ladakh, one of the darkest and most beautiful places in India. The story unfolds at 3 AM under a natural midnight sky, with the Magnite Kuro standing bold, elegant, and powerful against this raw backdrop.

This creative direction not only reflected the car’s identity but also elevated it as The Boldest Black SUV, making a strong impression on both potential buyers and auto enthusiasts.

Production Challenge

Shooting in Hanle, Ladakh, posed immense logistical challenges. Instead, we turned to innovation and executed the entire project using virtual production technology. This marked our first-ever automotive film shot in a virtual production studio, in collaboration with K Sera Sera Virtual Productions.

Through LED walls, we recreated Hanle’s midnight skies with complete accuracy, achieving the same immersive feel without leaving the studio.

A special thanks to Spotlights Productions for their seamless collaboration and support, which made this ambitious project possible.

Pre-Production

We conducted a detailed test shoot with a reference car to finalize shot designs, lighting, and technical setups. This preparation ensured the main shoot ran smoothly and efficiently.

Shoot Execution

The film was shot over two days:

  • Day 1 – Digital launch film of the Nissan Magnite Kuro

  • Day 2 – Visuals for the official car brochure film.

Post-Production

Our post-production team played a vital role in bringing the vision to life. Through advanced CGI, VFX, and color grading, the environment and lighting were enhanced to make the SUV look as though it was truly filmed in Hanle, Ladakh. The realism of the car’s movements and the atmospheric details gave the final film a strikingly cinematic feel.
