Background:

The Tiger 900 Rally Pro is designed for riders who crave adventure and flexibility—whether it’s on rough trails, open highways, or urban landscapes. Triumph’s goal was to position the Tiger 900 Rally Pro as the ultimate choice for adventure seekers and experienced riders, emphasising its power and advanced engineering.

Concept:

The ad film aimed to captivate the audience by presenting the Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro in an intense, almost mystical manner. The concept revolved around showcasing the motorcycle emerging from a dark, limbo-like space, where shadows and light interplay to reveal the bike’s detailed design and capabilities. The aim was to make the Tiger 900 appear as a powerful, almost mythical machine, ready to take on any challenge, no matterhow extreme or unknown.

Narrative Approach:

The film was crafted with the urgency and excitement of a last-minute challenge, capturing the spirit of the Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro as a symbol of adaptability, precision, and readiness for anything. With the bike arriving at 9 PM the night before its India launch, the team worked against the clock to create a compelling product brochure highlighting its new upgrades. This fast-paced, high-stakes approach mirrored the Tiger 900 Rally Pro's ability to perform flawlessly under pressure, reinforcing its identity as the ultimate adventure companion built to tackle any challenge with confidence.

Revealing Moment:

As the camera made its way around the bike, revealing its full form, the lighting intensified. The motorcycle was shown in slow motion as its features—such as the iconic Tiger front end, rugged tyres, and refined frame—came into clear view. This moment symbolized the bike’s full reveal: a beast of both precision and power, ready to conquer any adventure.

Execution:

A controlled studio environment with advanced lighting rigs and backdrops was used to build the dark limbo space. The motorcycle was placed on a static platform to allow smooth camera movement around it.

Challenges:

  • Lighting in a Dark Environment: The primary challenge was lighting the bike in such a dark setting while still making it visually striking. The team had to balance between using enough light to reveal the bike’s details and maintaining an atmospheric, shadowy effect.
  • Camera Movement: Smooth camera transitions were essential to maintain the sense of suspense. Every movement had to be precise to ensure the reveal felt controlled, rather than rushed or chaotic.
  • Maintaining Interest Without Overexposure: Since the reveal was gradual, the challenge was to keep the audience intrigued throughout the process, with each glimpse of the motorcycle teasing just enough before the final, dramatic reveal.
  • Time Management: The ad was born out of a race against time, embodying the spirit of the Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro—resilient, adaptable, and ready for any challenge. With the bike arriving at 9 PM the night before its India launch, the team had minimal time to shoot, working within a tight space and with the bare minimum production setup. Despite these constraints, the team captured the essence of the Tiger 900, creating a visually striking product brochure that showcased its new upgrades. This high-pressure, fast-paced process echoed the bike’s ability to perform under demanding conditions, reinforcing its identity as the ultimate adventure machine.
